Asbestos Control & Abatement Division (ACAD) formed in 1994 and represents specialists in asbestos removal. It is dedicated to ensuring its members work to the exacting standards required by legislation in the Asbestos Industry by providing first class training and free advice and by also representing its members’ interests within organisations such as HSE’s Asbestos Liaison Group (ALG), British Standards Institute (BSI) and the Asbestos Building Inspectors Certification Scheme (ABICS).



The Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) was founded in 1957 from three regional associations in England and Wales, to represent UK companies involved in industrial hot and cold insulation. Through its members it has developed its specialist expertise in energy saving through correctly specified insulation and high quality application. As the needs of the industry and members change and evolve, the need for quality standards and training remain as important as ever.

Insulation & Environmental Training Agency (IETA) are an accredited centre with the City & Guilds for the delivery of NVQs in Thermal Insulation and Key Skills. Field based Training Officers give advice and assistance on all training and grant matters, as well as monitoring the progress of apprentices. TICA gained Investors in People recognition in May 2003.



Contractors Health and Safety Assessments Scheme Over the years local authority health and safety and procurement professionals, with the support of the Health and Safety Executive, have developed the Contractor Health and Safety assessment scheme (CHAS).

ConstructionlineConstructionline is the UK’s register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants. Owned and endorsed by the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (formerly the DTI), Constructionline is a contributor to the Rethinking Construction initiative.
